Israeli military says it has surrounded Gaza City

The Israeli military surrounded densely populated Gaza City late Monday as the death toll continued to mount in the war-torn territory. Israeli security sources said they closed in on the city of about 1.5 million in their operation against Hamas, as both sides showed little interest in international calls for a truce. full story
